Fitted Stitches Academy

Do you own a sewing machine but feel lost on how to use it?
Embark on your sewing journey by familiarizing yourself with the workings of your machine. From threading the needle to adjusting tension, we'll guide you through every step to ensure you feel confident operating your sewing machine.
Session length: 1.5 hr
Cost: $55
Focused Skill-Building Session
Receive one-on-one guidance from our experienced instructors who are passionate about sharing their love for sewing. Whether you prefer prefer private sessions or group lessons, we'll tailor our instruction to meet your needs and help you achieve your sewing goals.

Sewing 101 Classes
Our sewing classes cater to individuals of all skill levels, from absolute beginners to seasoned stitchers. Join a supportive community of fellow enthusiasts as you embark on projects tailored to your interests and skill level. From simple tote bags to fun things like fabric coasters or scrunchies, there's something for everyone to learn and create.
You will be learning valuable skills while making fun projects. These classes will prepare you for future more advanced classes.

Garment Construction Classes – Build Your Handmade Wardrobe
Ready to take your sewing skills beyond the basics? Our garment construction classes are designed for beginner sewists who already feel comfortable using a sewing machine and are ready to dive into making wearable pieces. These classes focus on foundational techniques that will set you up for long-term sewing success.
We’ll start with fun and practical projects like cozy pajama pants and classic t-shirts—perfect for building confidence while creating garments you’ll actually wear.

Class Policies
Fitted Stitches Academy Policies
We’re so excited to sew with you! To keep our classes fun, safe, and welcoming for everyone, please take a moment to read through our policies. These apply to all group classes, workshops, and private lessons.
🧵 Age & Supervision
Students ages 10–16 must have a parent or guardian remain on the premises during the class. They don’t need to stay in the classroom, but should remain nearby in the building or shop area.
🌈 Everyone is Welcome
Sewing is for everyone! Our classes are open to all genders and backgrounds, and we’re proud to create an inclusive, judgment-free space. Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
🤝 Respect & Safety Matter
Our sewing space is full of creativity—and sharp tools! Scissors, pins, and machines require care and focus. We ask all students to treat instructors and classmates with kindness and respect, and to follow safety guidelines at all times. Good manners help us create a fun and safe space to learn!
📅 Refund & Cancellation Policy
We do not offer refunds, but we’re happy to apply your payment as a credit toward a future class or workshop if you give us at least 48 hours’ notice. No-shows or cancellations made less than 48 hours before class will not be eligible for a refund or credit. Please respect our time by giving us fair warning if you can’t make it.
🖼️ Photo Permission & Class Contracts
All students (or a parent/guardian for minors) will be asked to sign a participation contract before class begins. This includes a photo release, allowing us to share pictures of your amazing work on our website and social media. If you’d prefer not to be photographed, just let us know—we completely understand.
🧵 Materials & Supplies
Some classes may require you to bring fabric or specific sewing tools. If materials are needed, they will be listed clearly in your class description. Please make sure to come prepared so you can fully participate and enjoy the project!
🧼 Clean Workspace Courtesy
We ask all students to help us keep the sewing area tidy. Please return tools to their proper place and clean up your workspace before you leave. A clean studio helps everyone have a better experience!
📵 Phone Use During Class
We kindly ask that phones be silenced or used minimally during class to help keep focus on the project. You’re welcome to take photos of your progress—but let’s save texting and scrolling for after class.
🎒 Personal Belongings
Please keep your personal items with you during class. Fitted Stitches Academy is not responsible for lost or misplaced belongings, so double-check your space before you leave!
⏰ Arrive on Time
We start right on schedule and guide everyone through the project step-by-step. Late arrivals can be disruptive and may miss important instruction, so please plan to arrive a few minutes early.
🪡 We Sew Together
To keep things organized, we all work at the same pace during class. If you’re looking for more advanced or personalized instruction, we offer private lessons where you can move at your own speed.
