Who are we

Head Seamstress

Hi, I’m Summer Strickland, the owner and head seamstress of Fitted Stitches. With over 20 years of experience in bridal and formalwear alterations, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless clients look and feel their best on life’s most important days.

I grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where I fell in love with creativity and craftsmanship. My passion for sewing deepened while attending Lee University in Cleveland, TN, where I studied psychology and honed my skills working in the costume department for theater productions. There, I learned the art of tailoring, attention to detail, and how to bring unique visions to life—all skills I carry into my work today.

Fitted Stitches combines my lifelong love of sewing with a mission to provide exceptional service. Whether it’s perfecting the fit of a wedding gown, creating custom details, or reconstructing heirloom pieces, I strive to make every client’s vision a reality. My goal is to ensure that every bride and client feels confident, beautiful, and supported throughout their experience with us.

When I’m not sewing, you’ll find me gardening, reading, baking, or spending time with my family here in Cleveland, TN, where I’ve made my home for the past 22 years. It’s an honor to share my passion and skills with our community, one stitch at a time.
