Sewing 101
Join our Beginner Sewing Course and unlock your creativity with the basics of sewing!
This six-week, hands-on class is perfect for those with little to no sewing experience. Over the course, you will learn how to fully use a sewing machine, understand different types of fabric, and master essential stitches. By the end of the course, you’ll have completed simple projects and gained the confidence to start your own sewing adventures.
Projects we will be completing:
Tote bag in fabric of your choice
A skirt or drawstring pants from a commercial pattern
Optional: something of your choice from the beginner list if there is time
What You’ll Learn:
- Week 1: Introduction to sewing machines and tools
- Week 2: Fabric education and preparation
- Week 3: Basic sewing techniques and stitches
- Week 4: Project work (e.g., tote bag or pillow cover)
- Week 5: continue Project work
- Week 6: Advanced techniques and final project completion
What to Bring:
- Your enthusiasm and creativity!
- Your Sewing machine to every class(optional but recommended if you have one)
- SUPPLIES: Student will purchase supplies for class and be provided with a list the first day. All supplies are provided for the first day(if you are bringing your own machine please bring on first day).

Sewing Fundamentals
This three week, hands-on class is perfect for those with little to no sewing experience or someone just needing a refresher.
This is a condensed version of our Sewing 101 course but just as informative. Over the 3 weeks you will learn how to fully use a sewing machine, understand the basic types of fabric, and practice common essential stitches. By the end of the course, you will have completed one simple project and will know the inter workings of a sewing machine.
You may chose one of the following projects for this workshop:
Tote bag in fabric of your choice
A skirt or drawstring pants from a commercial pattern
A simple Tshirt
Infinity Scarf and matching Sunglasses case
Fringed Table Runner
What You’ll Learn:
- Week 1: Introduction to sewing machines, sewing tools and basic stitching techniques
- Week 2: Fabric and pattern education
- Week 3: Complete project of your choice
